Certified Wildlife Habitat
Do you love wildlife, nature and all the beauty and wonder it supplies us, but feel like you don’t have the resources or time to promote or protect it?? Great news! In partnership with NWF, we are launching a new program that helps you cultivate wildlife in your own backyard – and certify your yard as a wildlife habitat!

Adopt-A-Stream
Adopt-A-Stream Mississippi is a program that promotes environmental stewardship through training workshops, outdoor field activities, youth educational programs and by introducing participants to watershed action projects. It wants to involve citizens, like you, in stream stewardship and water quality monitoring. The common theme of the Adopt-A-Stream program is caring for and learning to conserve our water resources. Adopt-A-Stream is funded through a Nonpoint Source grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) under §319(h) of the Clean Water Act. This grant is then administered by the Mississippi Wildlife Federation.

Habitat Stewards
The Mississippi Habitat Stewards Program is a volunteer program of the Mississippi Wildlife Federation in support of management and conservation on public lands in coastal Mississippi. The program provides 24 hours of training for local restoration, habitat management, and human dimensions of habitat management in a series of field classes. The volunteers are then matched with a land steward based on land management needs and the volunteer interests.

Hunter’s Harvest
Many families have no dependable source of protein in their diets. Venison provides that protein and is also low in fat. Through the Mississippi Hunter’s Harvest Program, Mississippi sportsmen can provide this much needed dietary component to needy Mississippians.

Magnolia Records
The antler scoring system used for the Magnolia Records Program is identical to that used by the Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young Clubs. The minimum scores for the Magnolia Records Program are 125 – Typical, 155 – Non-Typical. All white-tailed deer taken legally within Mississippi during any prior hunting season are eligible to participate in the Magnolia Records Program. All entrants meeting the minimum requirements of the Magnolia Records Program will receive an official Magnolia Records Program Certificate. If the deer has been officially scored for Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young or Longhunters purposes, please bring the official score sheet with your mount to the scoring session. Scoring sessions are held throughout Mississippi at various times of the year.
