Pelahatchie Shore Park at the Ross Barnett Reservoir
“A Great Race Helping To Protect A Great Resource”
The Gator Bait Kayak Race is a 5.5-mile race for competitive and recreational kayakers, canoeists, and SUP paddlers. The course runs through Pelahatchie Bay on the Ross Barnett Reservoir. The Mississippi Wildlife Federation along with MDEQ, Rezonate, Pearl River Valley Water Supply District and Keep the Rez Beautiful host this annual race to draw attention to the quality of the water in the Reservoir and the need to protect it through management, litter control, and conservation.
Clean water is essential for aquatic life, recreation, water supply and economic development.
Help us protect the Ross Barnett Reservoir!
